In the year following my son Benjamin’s stillbirth, I was busy parenting my three year old daughter, working as a grief coach and working to regain my health. About halfway through my 65 pound weight-loss, I found Ustyled founder Catherine Cassidy. She came to my home, went through my closet with me and helped me find not only my sense of style, but my sense of self again.
Spending an afternoon with her lit me up inside. It was powerful and its effects have stayed with me, even as my body and life changed and changed again.
This week on the Create Your Magical Life podcast I talk with Catherine about what empowered style really means and the magical effects of feeling good in your clothes.
Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom, working mom, entrepreneur, CEO or college student, Catherine’s passion is helping you stand in your feminine power and feel confident in how you show up in the world. In this interview, she shares her empowerment philosophy, inspiring stories and tons of specific tips that you can immediately put to work in your own closet.
She invited us to share photos on Facebook or Instagram tagging her @Ustyled and using the hashtag #StylePower (if you’re okay with having your photo shared). Please tag me too (@alanasheeren) or head over to my Facebook page with your style a-ha’s.

If you’re here in the U.S. I wish you a peaceful and love-filled Thanksgiving holiday. If you’re elsewhere, I wish you a peaceful and love-filled week.
