These words are beautiful Alana. You have gone down a road which has required a lot of strength and courage ~ you are all of that and more. Don’t feel that you have to be a certain way for Ada, she will learn great things from your grief and survival.
The emptiness you feel ~ he is only gone in physical form, but he shines ever so brightly in all of you and through what seems now to be an empty space. In your own time, when you are ready ~ with acceptance and letting go, his light will shine soooo bright that you will feel Benjamin closer than ever before.
