Giveaway in honor of Mother’s Day

May 4, 2011 By Alana

Several weeks ago I wrote about my experience in a needle felting class and the amazing creations of the woman who taught the class. I am honored and grateful that she has agreed to donate one of my favorites as a Mother’s Day giveaway.

She is a reminder of possibility, of creation, and of the responsibilities we have in caring for ourselves and Mama Earth. She is a celebration of all mothers, everywhere, whether we hold our children in our arms or not.

Please leave a comment below to be entered into the drawing. Feel free to share what being a mother means to you (whether you are one or not) or simply say “count me in”. Winner will be chosen on Mother’s Day, this Sunday May 8.

With great love,

Alana

***I wish I had one of these wonderful Earth Mamas for each of you lovely women. This particular one goes to Celina. Thank you all for leaving your words and Happy Mother’s Day.***

A mother holds possibility in her arms,
she holds what has been, what is and what could be close to her heart.

She holds the love of all the world and with that love heals all hurts, mends all wounds and carries the hope that gives us strength.

I am thinking of all those who are hurting for whatever reason on this day, and all of those who are celebrating the love that is shared… May love find you and hold you close.

Being a Mother gives me a wealth of insight on a daily basis. It also shows me that I contribute. That I take part in life.

I believe the most important part of life is to love and be loved, and my son has given me the gift of pure, undeniable love.

I am blessed, as are all parents.

I just wrote a long comment but deleted it. I can’t put that out there. If you ever feel like meeting for tea, we could talk.

    It’s so funny,
I just posted about a walk I took with my son, and how it was the best part of my day.
Just being in nature, and being with him..

The mother thing is a complicated one for me. I love being one, and will always look for the one I didn’t really have…

I wonder if, really, we mother ourselves, untimately…

Will be pondering this one up until posting itme!

I love this beautiful creation… Just exquisite.

Motherhood to me is a miracle in and of itself- Each day is a blessing, a special gift that I do not take for granted. There is nothing I enjoy more than watching my beautiful daughter sleep and nothing better than her snuggles and kisses in the light of a new day. I am thankful, lucky and proud to have a little clone of myself walking around calling me “mom”-a title that is better than any CEO or VP of a company.

    She is beautiful!

Being a mother to me is a tender path. A path of love and at the same time learning to let go.
